What is Mother's Day ?

mother's day its a day dedicated to mothers and the strong bonds that they share with their kids. 

It is a day to honor your mother and celebrate the relationship they have with you. 

This day comes once a year on Mother's Day, on the third Sunday in May. It is celebrated mostly by women and children of all ages.

Mother's Day can be wonderful if it is celebrated well. When it is an over-celebrated holiday, Mother's Day can turn into a stressful time filled with shopping for gifts more suitable than ever . There are many activities that can be done on this special day. The most common thing is to prepare the best food for mom and to do things with your mother. You may want to make her favorite dishes or take her somewhere nice.

The first Mother’s Day was celebrated on May 10, 1908, in Grafton, West Virginia, by Anna Jarvis. Since Jarvis was a child, she had lost both of her parents and she became obsessed with honoring her mother's memory. She even sent a letter to President Woodrow Wilson and asked him to officially recognized the holiday in 1914; however it wasn't until 1972 that Congress made it an official United States holiday. In the Philippines, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, during the celebration of the festival of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, a Catholic feast day. 

Mother's Day is celebrated for various reasons. Some people do it to honor their mothers and grandmothers for all that they have done for them in life. Others do it to honor and celebrate all mothers, whether they are matriarchs or single parents who are raising children by themselves. Some celebrate this holiday to honor those who have adopted children into their homes and therefore added an addition to their family; either temporarily or permanently.

A Mother's day card is a good way to show thanks your mom for everything she has done for you. Many people choose to make their own card for their mother, and use a variety of different materials. Some mothers prefer to have cards that are more expensive, while others like the homemade ones. It is all up to the receiver. That is why it is hard to say what kind of card you should give your mom on Mother's day. Cards are a great way to say how much she means to you.
